The pool opened with the combined Landåshallen complex in 1964 and became an important place for school swimming and instruction in Årstad. Bergen decided to close the swimming facility permanently in 2016, before the rest of the building later shut over asbestos concerns. Current swimming activity has moved elsewhere, including the newer Bergen inkluderingssenter at a different address.
