The existing hall remains the indoor-sport anchor at Mathopen for school lessons, club practice and bookable events. A two-storey extension scheduled to open in 2026 adds handball and football changing rooms, a foyer, kiosk, kitchen and a four-metre-high activity room, expanding the site's capacity without replacing the main hall.
