Sør-Varanger's riding community established the hall in 2010 to make the valley's horse activity less dependent on severe northern weather. Members use the arena for regular schooling, while courses and shows bring participants from beyond the home club. The riding surface and spectator provision have received targeted improvements, and other organised groups have occasionally hired the building.
